The PCB Board is elected annually by the general membership in accordance with our Bylaws. The Board is comprised of those in Executive Officer and non-Officer Director roles, each with a specific set of responsibilities.

Ian Behlke
President & Executive Director
French Horn

As President, Ian is responsible for general oversight of the organization and the work of the Board and Music Director.

Ian teaches band at Edgewood Middle School in the Mounds View school district. He also teaches middle school band lessons in the Mounds View school district. Ian earned his degree in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire in 2014. He has played in the Plymouth Concert Band for over three years.

Shannon Elsenpeter
Vice President & Deputy Director
French Horn

Shannon is the Vice President of the PCB board, where she assists the President in managing the Board and organization and leads special projects and initiatives.

Shannon is a seasoned Information Technology professional. While she holds her bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse, she has always had music as one of her creative outlets. Shannon was a member of the Eden Prairie Community Band for 13 years and served on their band council for 12 years.

Steven Comingdeer
Secretary & Treasurer /
Administration & Finance Director
Flute Section Leader

Steven holds the combined role of Treasurer and Secretary. In this role, Steven is responsible for fiscal management of the organization as well as overall organizational and Board governance.

Steven joined the PCB in 2014. Steven holds a masters degree in Human Resource Management and is currently the global director for HR decision support for Accenture, a global professional services firm with 450,000+ employees in 120 countries.

Although he did not study music professionally, Steven has been playing flutes ranging from piccolo to the contrabass flute since elementary school and has a particular interest in the more uncommon flutes such as the Eb flute and Bb flute d’amore. Steven plays flute and piccolo in the Minnetonka Symphony Orchestra, and the Trillium and Hopewell flute choirs. Steven also serves on the Board for the Upper Midwest Flute Association as Treasurer.

Richard Samec
Development
Saxophone

Richard is our Development Director, responsible for all of our fundraising and donor relations initiatives and activities including Give to the Max Day, and our grant applications.

Richard is a Registered Professional Engineer who has worked in the power and energy industry for over 25 years. Richard earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Dakota and Professional Engineering licensure in 2002. Richard also plays the Slovenian diatonic button accordion and travels to jazz festivals across the country as an avid listener.

Daniel Georgakopoulos
Operations
Clarinet

Daniel is in charge of all logistics planning and execution to support our concert performances and other events as Operations Director.

Daniel graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a double B.M. degree in K-12 Instrumental Education and Clarinet Performance. He is a licensed Minnesota Music Educator teaching privately as well as serving as a substitute teacher in Wayzata District Schools.

Ben Verbridge
Marketing & Communications
Bass Trombone

Ben is our head of marketing & communications. With these complimentary responsibilities, he seeks to increase publicity in the metro with information such as upcoming concerts, events, and other projects the ensemble is working on through the band website and various communication and social media channels.

Currently, Ben teaches Band, Orchestra, Choir, and General Music at Eagle Ridge Academy in Minnetonka. He received his Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Concordia College in Moorhead. He is extremely passionate about sharing the arts through teaching and performing, and is excited to continue to share that as a member of the Low Brass section in the Plymouth Concert Band.

David Aschenbeck
Outreach
Tuba

David was appointed to the board in January 2019, and as Outreach Director, is responsible for cultivating and developing relationships with all of our partners and constituents, including members, audience members and community partners.

David's music experience started at Orono playing low brass under Frank Schultz, followed by the Concordia Symphonic Band (Moorhead) under Doc Hanson. Though a born and raised locally, he spent most of his professional career as an R&D engineer with Owens Corning in Ohio, returning to Minnesota in 2016. He joined PCB in Nov., 2018, playing tuba.
