The Plymouth Concert Band is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors which is elected annually by the general membership in accordance with our Bylaws. The Board is comprised of those in Executive Officer and non-Officer Director roles, each with a specific set of responsibilities. Our Music Director & Principal Conductor is an advisory member of the Board. Board meetings are open to the public and meeting minutes are available for review here. Executive Officers

David Johnson


President & Executive Director


Percussion

As President, David is responsible for general oversight of the organization and the work of the Board and Music Director. David joined the Plymouth Concert Band in 2021 after moving back home to the west metro from Dallas, Texas with his wife.

David was a percussionist in the Wayzata High School symphonic band for all four years of high school. After graduation, he played in the symphonic band and percussion ensemble at Concordia College in Moorehead before transferring to Baylor University to play in the Golden Wave Band as a part of the Baylor Drumline. David received his BBA in Marketing from Baylor in 2014. David has always had a passion for music and percussion, and aside from the Plymouth Concert Band, he also enjoys playing drums for his church worship band.

Shannon Elsenpeter
Vice President & Deputy Director


French Horn

Shannon is the Vice President of the PCB board, where she assists the President in managing the Board and organization and leads special projects and initiatives.

Shannon is a seasoned Information Technology professional. While she holds her bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse, she has always had music as one of her creative outlets. Shannon was a member of the Eden Prairie Community Band for 13 years and served on their band council for 12 years.

David Aschenbeck


Secretary & Treasurer/Administration & Finance Director


Tuba

David holds the combined role of Treasurer and Secretary. In this role, David is responsible for fiscal management of the organization as well as overall organizational and Board governance. David was appointed to the board in January 2019, and served as Outreach Director until 2023.

David's music experience started at Orono playing low brass under Frank Schultz, followed by the Concordia Symphonic Band (Moorhead) under Doc Hanson. Though a born and raised locally, he spent most of his professional career as an R&D engineer with Owens Corning in Ohio, returning to Minnesota in 2016. He joined PCB in Nov., 2018, playing tuba.

Steve Comingdeer (he/him/his)


Marketing & Communications


Flute Section Leader

After several years as the Secretary & Treasurer of the PCB Board, Steve now holds the position of Marketing & Communications Chair, where he is responsible for internal and external communications, publicity, graphic design, social media, and maintenance of the website.

Outside of PCB, Steve enjoys playing flute for local bands and orchestras, and is a member of the Trillium Flute Choir. He works in the HR field and serves as an adjunct professor of HR for the University of Minnesota. He lives in Plymouth with his partner Dominic and their three dogs.

Daniel Georgakopoulos


Programs and Events


Clarinet

Daniel is in charge of all logistics planning and execution to support our concert performances and other events as Operations Director.

Daniel graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a double B.M. degree in K-12 Instrumental Education and Clarinet Performance. He is a licensed Minnesota Music Educator teaching privately as well as serving as a substitute teacher in Wayzata District Schools.

Emily Gage
Membership and Community Outreach


French Horn

Emily is our new Membership and Community Outreach Director. Emily is an English Language teacher. She has a bachelor's degree in German and a Masters of Education degree for Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Mary Washington. Throughout college, Emily also studied music theory and played in the university orchestra.

Alison Haseman


Fundraising


Flute

Alison is the Fundraising Director for the PCB Board. She was a metro area band director for 24+ years, including the Wayzata school district, and most recently worked at Blue Water Theatre Company in Wayzata. She holds a Masters in Wind Conducting from Southern Oregon University and a Bachelor’s of Music Education from the University of Minnesota, where she played piccolo in the marching band and flute in concert and chamber ensembles.
