The Plymouth Concert Band is led on stage by David Elmhirst. Not only a talented musician, but also one of the founding members of the Plymouth Concert Band, Mr. Elmhirst has played a pivotal role in the band’s establishment and growth over the years.

Mr. Elmhirst earned his Bachelor's degree in music education in 1990 and also holds a degree in electrical engineering (1986) both from the University of Colorado. In 1995, after teaching music for several years in Paonia, Colorado he he moved to Minnesota to pursue a Master's Degree in Wind Conducting (1997). Following that, he was named the Conductor of the Plymouth Concert Band. Mr. Elmhirst has studied conducting with several renowned experts. Currently, he teaches various music classes at Wayzata High School.
